Choosing Your Construction Team

Choosing your construction team is crucial to any architectural work. Too often inexperienced people just try to go with the lowest quotation.

This may result in lack of quality for the materials or bad labour work. Always try to check that the building company has already carried on successfully similar projects (even a bit smaller but not too small) from beginning to completion, try to visit their construction site, ask them if that is possible. Try to contact at least one of their previous clients to check with them if they were satisfied and to let you understand better the qualities of workers. Ask previous clients if the builder was able to respect their working schedule or if he made delays and why. Check the quality of the previous works considering also how long ago these project were delivered. Ask if they needed to do any refurbishment after completion and what was the problem in case.

Remember that by trying to pay the smallest amount you will most probably cut the builder’s wage and then as a result the builder will try to leave your site in the shortest possible period not carrying the works properly. This will be your house, probably the most important investment you are going to make, be smart, and make sure you do it properly, don’t only try to just save money.
